Filing Requirements

  • Power of Attorney – simply signed
  • Certified copy of UK Registration Certificate
  • The name, address and nationality of the applicant
  • Sample of mark, (not required for world marks)
  • A list of the goods / services and the classes pertaining thereto
  • A certified copy of the priority document, in the case that priority is to be claimed


  • 10 years from application date

Filing Requirements

  • Request for registration of United Kingdom patent must be made to the Registrar in St Helena within three years from the date of grant of the United Kingdom patent. The requirements for filing an application are as follows:
    – Application for registration
    – Power of Attorney – if application is signed by agent
    – Two certified copies of the base United Kingdom patent
    – Certificate from Comptroller of United Kingdom Patent Office, giving full particulars of the issue of the United Kingdom patent


  • The unexpired term of the base UK patent
  • Payment of United Kingdom renewal fees (annuities) does not have to be recorded in St Helena
